So? What is this is all about? We are currently working hard on the upcoming spring update for TibiaME. Many new features will come to the game and one of them is soooo big that we want to get your feedback as quickly as possible: the all new Skill System!

Yes - you heard it correctly. TibiaME is getting a Skill System. But not only that! In addition we are going to open up the Attributes of the characters too. So what does that mean? Currently when you reach a new level with your character, it automatically becomes stronger. With the release of the spring update you will receive 4 Attribute points for each level up, which you can freely distribute to your Attributes 'Health', 'Mana', 'Attack' and 'Defense'. From Level 8 on you will also receive 1 Skill point, which can be used to activate different skills.

When distributing points to the Attributes there are some differences for the vocations though. Each point on the given Attribute will give you:

  • Health: Warrior +10, Wizard +4
  • Mana: Warrior +2, Wizard +8
  • Attack: Warrior +1, Wizard +1
  • Defense: Warrior +1, Wizard +1

What's the impact of that then? Basically it will allow you to give your character an own direction. You could create a warrior that is really good at attacking, but is useless with magic. Or how about a wizard with higher health? Try out what suits you best...

Now that's nice, right? But you want even more diversity for your character? That's where the Skill System kicks in. By choosing your skills, you can play your character in many different ways.

But how do Skills work?

  • First of all: To use a skill you need to distribute at least 1 skill point to it. Each point distributed this way will add 1 of 5 possible stars to the skill. The more stars, the more often you can use the skill (faster reload time).
  • You can activate one aggressive and one defensive skill at the same time. Each skill tree is divided into these two sections. Warriors have Tank (Defensive) and Damage (Aggressive) skills. Wizards have Heal (Defensive) and Damage (Aggressive) skills.
  • Higher skills will require you to have certain skills at 5 stars, before you can distribute skill points to them. So to activate the Warrior skill 'Double Armour' you will require 5 stars on 'Dodge' and 5 stars on 'Hardskin'. The earliest level to activate (have 1 star) 'Double Armour' is 18.

Ok – so now I have distributed my skill points, how do I use these things?
You will need to choose your aggressive and your defensive skill first of all. Now the skills will take a certain time to load (indicated by a red loading bar). As soon as the bar disappears you can use the skill (Hotkeys: Use *, Use #). Some skills will spread their effect over time, or a couple of combat rounds. Other will take effect straight away and then be used up (e.g. Provoke & Scream)

This is the Skill tree for Warriors:

List of Skills and what they do:

  • Hardskin: Reduces the damage you would receive
  • Provoke: All visible monsters will try to attack you
  • Dodge: Strongly reduces the damage you would receive
  • Double Defense: Doubles your defense points

  • Health leach: When dealing damage to an enemy you will receive health
  • Double damage (Spell): Doubles the damage your spell would have dealt
  • Stun spell: Slows down the target and prevents it from attacking

What's really important! The skill system is still at a very early stage. Some skills might not work as intended. Also the names and all involved dialogues are not final! Some skills might not even make it into the game eventually... That's why we are testing them soooo early. We want your feedback on the skills, their effects in the game and if it's fun to use them.

The following dialogues are important:

Open the Info menu > then Character Info > Level up Attributes / Skills

In the Attributes menu you can raise and lower your attribute values:

In the Skill menu you can raise and lower your skills. At the beginning you will only see the skills you can distribute points to. Remember: Most skills require other skills with 5 stars, so that you can distribute points to them. As this is a Beta Test, you can simply level up all skills (without actually requiring any skill points):

Try using skills appropriate for your level. You can see the level in the skill name: wiz_08_heal

To activate a skill you will require a different menu. Please keep in mind that this is not the final release state. These dialogues were created for the Beta Test only:

Go to the info menu > Choose skills > Choose Select to choose Skills

Once you have selected an aggressive and / or defensive skill, leave the dialogue. You will now see the skills in the game:

Now you can use your normal combinations of use (Menu > use, or hotkey '2'). Then either navigate to the skill you want to use and confirm, or press * for the aggressive skill and # for the defensive skill.
