So? What is this is all about? We are currently working hard on the upcoming spring update for TibiaME. Many new features will come to the game and one of them is soooo big that we want to get your feedback as quickly as possible: the all new Skill System!

Yes - you heard it correctly. TibiaME is getting a Skill System. But not only that! In addition we are going to open up the Attributes of the characters too. So what does that mean? Currently when you reach a new level with your character, it automatically becomes stronger. With the release of the spring update you will receive 4 Attribute points for each level up, which you can freely distribute to your Attributes 'Health', 'Mana', 'Attack' and 'Defense'. From Level 8 on you will also receive 1 Skill point, which can be used to activate different skills.

When distributing points to the Attributes there are some differences for the vocations though. Each point on the given Attribute will give you:

  • Health: Warrior +10, Wizard +4
  • Mana: Warrior +2, Wizard +8
  • Attack: Warrior +1, Wizard +1
  • Defense: Warrior +1, Wizard +1

What's the impact of that then? Basically it will allow you to give your character an own direction. You could create a warrior that is really good at attacking, but is useless with magic. Or how about a wizard with higher health? Try out what suits you best...

Now that's nice, right? But you want even more diversity for your character? That's where the Skill System kicks in. By choosing your skills, you can play your character in many different ways.

But how do Skills work?

  • First of all: To use a skill you need to distribute at least 1 skill point to it. Each point distributed this way will add 1 of 5 possible stars to the skill. The more stars, the more often you can use the skill (faster reload time).
  • You can activate one aggressive and one defensive skill at the same time. Each skill tree is divided into these two sections. Warriors have Tank (Defensive) and Damage (Aggressive) skills. Wizards have Heal (Defensive) and Damage (Aggressive) skills.
  • Higher skills will require you to have certain skills at 5 stars, before you can distribute skill points to them. So to activate the Warrior skill 'Double Armour' you will require 5 stars on 'Dodge' and 5 stars on 'Hardskin'. The earliest level to activate (have 1 star) 'Double Armour' is 18.

Ok – so now I have distributed my skill points, how do I use these things?
You will need to choose your aggressive and your defensive skill first of all. Now the skills will take a certain time to load (indicated by a red loading bar). As soon as the bar disappears you can use the skill (Hotkeys: Use *, Use #). Some skills will spread their effect over time, or a couple of combat rounds. Other will take effect straight away and then be used up (e.g. Provoke & Scream)

This is the Skill tree for Warriors:

List of Skills and what they do:

  • Hardskin: Reduces the damage you would receive
  • Provoke: All visible monsters will try to attack you
  • Dodge: Strongly reduces the damage you would receive
  • Double Defense: Doubles your defense points
  • Show weakness: Will show the weakspot of all visible monsters (and players)
  • Double Armour: Doubles the effect of your armour
  • Testudo: When your health is <50% damage to you is reduced by 50%
  • Protect from debuff: Will protect your character from being debuffed for a certain time
  • Mana shield: Instead of loosing health, your mana is reduced
  • Decharge skill: Will remove the skill loads of another player or monster
  • Evade spell: The next spell against you will miss
  • Damage shield: Instead of loosing life, damage is deducted from the shields load
  • Pure tank: Your defense is doubled, your attack reduced by 50%
  • Stun target: The target slows down and cannot attack
  • Spike shield: Damage is deducted from the shields load, attacker receives 50% of this damage
  • Firststrike: Your attack has a very high chance to succeed
  • Double attack: You can attack two creatures at once
  • Increased damage: You will deal more average damage over time
  • Striking double attack: You can attack two creatures at once with a high chance to succeed
  • Stacked attack: You can attack while standing on the same field as another player
  • Double Damage: The damage you would have dealt is doubled
  • Rage: When your health is <50% you deal +50% damage
  • Roundhouse: You can attack up to four creatures around you
  • Mighty blow: Skip one attack to deal maximum possible damage with your weapon
  • All in: Your attack is doubled, while your defense is reduced by 50%
  • Chain attack: When attacking a creature, damage will spread to surrounding creatures
  • Triple attack: Instead of attacking a creature once, you will attack it three times instead
  • Mana charge: Loose all your mana, but deal that amount as extra damage on your next attack
  • Frenzy attack: Attack up to four creatures around you and reduce their overall health by 50%
  • Return damage: Instead of receiving damage, the damage is returned to the attacker

And here comes the Skill tree for Wizards:

  • Increased heal: Your next heal spell will have a greater impact
  • Scream: Monsters currently attacking you will run away and look for a new target
  • Double heal: Your next heal spell will have the double impact
  • Heal two: Heal yourself and another player
  • Show weakness: Will show the weakspot of all visible monsters (and players)
  • Mana transfer: Will transfer all of your mana to other visible players
  • Max heal: Your next heal spell will have the maximum effect
  • Heal all: Your next heal spell will heal all visible players
  • Protect from debuff: Will protect your character from being debuffed for a certain time
  • Combat regeneration: Your health and mana will regenerate while you are in combat
  • Temporary protection zone: Like invisibility, but it ends when you move
  • Faster regeneration: Your health and mana will regenerate at a faster rate
  • Slow down enemy: This skill is not implemented yet
  • Town portal: Will teleport you to the current island's temple
  • Reverse damage: You gain health instead of receiving damage
  • Firststrike (Weapon): Your attack has a very high chance to succeed
  • Firststrike (Spell): Your attack has a very high chance to succeed
  • Increased damage (Weapon): You will deal more average damage over time
  • Increased damage (Spell): You will deal more average damage over time
  • 50% enemy protection: Your next spell will half the enemy's protection (armour)
  • Double Damage (Weapon): Doubles the damage you would have dealt
  • Half mana usage (Weapon): Reduces the weapons mana consumption by 50%
  • Next spell 50% dmg: Your next spell will deal 50% more damage
  • Triple damage (Weapon): Triples the damage you would have dealt
  • Next spell 50% cooldown: Reduces the cooldown by 50%
  • Next spell 50% mana cost: Reduces the mana cost by 50%
  • Mana leach: When dealing damage to an enemy you will receive mana
  • Health leach: When dealing damage to an enemy you will receive health
  • Double damage (Spell): Doubles the damage your spell would have dealt
  • Stun spell: Slows down the target and prevents it from attacking

What's really important! The skill system is still at a very early stage. Some skills might not work as intended. Also the names and all involved dialogues are not final! Some skills might not even make it into the game eventually... That's why we are testing them soooo early. We want your feedback on the skills, their effects in the game and if it's fun to use them.

The following dialogues are important:

Open the Info menu > then Character Info > Level up Attributes / Skills

In the Attributes menu you can raise and lower your attribute values:

In the Skill menu you can raise and lower your skills. At the beginning you will only see the skills you can distribute points to. Remember: Most skills require other skills with 5 stars, so that you can distribute points to them. As this is a Beta Test, you can simply level up all skills (without actually requiring any skill points):

Try using skills appropriate for your level. You can see the level in the skill name: wiz_08_heal

To activate a skill you will require a different menu. Please keep in mind that this is not the final release state. These dialogues were created for the Beta Test only:

Go to the info menu > Choose skills > Choose Select to choose Skills

Once you have selected an aggressive and / or defensive skill, leave the dialogue. You will now see the skills in the game:

Now you can use your normal combinations of use (Menu > use, or hotkey '2'). Then either navigate to the skill you want to use and confirm, or press * for the aggressive skill and # for the defensive skill.
